Here are a few helpful hints to understanding the language of Domino Theory:
Topple #: topples are numbered with a seven digits to represent the goal of reaching 1 million topples.
SN #: a specific domino in a topple has a serial number. A topple might be made up of just one domino, or even millions!
Energy: what is passed from one domino to the next to cause a domino to "tip over" and continue the chain reaction.
Core concepts: The central ideas that provide structure to the framework called Domino Theory.
Creator: Someone that sets up a topple by defining the core purpose. There are different categories of Creators.
Core Purpose: Why the topple was created. There a proven methods for making a purpose "powerful." Core Purpose should include "this is how you can help."
The Root Domino: Domino #1 in the topple.
A Receiver: Someone that has been given a domino, but hasn't yet
become a Toppler. When creating topples it's important to understand
that a topple carries on only when receivers are compelled to help with
core purpose.
A Toppler: Someone who actively tries to "set big things in motion." They received a domino from the creator or
another Toppler, and is now compelled/inspired to also pass on the
domino. A Toppler is credited with keeping the Topple in motion. The
Toppler's impact can be measured by evaluating how much energy is
generated in the Topple by successive generations.
Tipping: The act of passing a domino from one person to the
next. In other words, the action that changes a person from a receiver
to a Toppler.
A Generation: The first generation is the collection of dominos
that are children of the creator's root domino. The second generation
are the children of the first generation, and so on.
Bummer: how a Toppler feels when things don't go well.
Teetering: when a domino is hit, and it's uncertain if the domino will fall and continue the chain reaction.
This list will grow and change over time. Suggestions/comments welcome.
